monday?
I need to think of a better way to name my posts. I'm lacking in that area.
But here's the news.
I had a very ups & downs knitting weekend. I knit and knit and knit and knit. Saturday on a baby blanket (for a shower last night at7:00 p.m.), Sunday on a baby sweater (because I decided there was no way the blanket would be finished in time). I did the baby sweater (can't remember the name of it right now) from Last Minute Knitted Gifts. I got halfway through the yoke and realized: "This is very wrong, something doesn't look right, doesn't feel right." Then I searched for "Last Minute Knitted Gifts Errata" on Google. And found that the entire yoke part of the sweater has been rewritten and I had to rip back to where I attached the sleeves. Needless to say - I was stressed out because that all happened at 4:00, the shower was at 7, AND i realized i was going to run out of yarn. So - I ripped back (furiously), reattached the sleeves, my hubby drove all the way to AC Moore to get me more yarn (half-hour each way) AND he stopped at Starbucks to get me my favorite comfort/calming drink: Chai Tea Latte. At this point my hands are just aching because I seriously have been knitting for two days straight. I finished, wove in the last end, at 6:15, and we had to be out the door at 6:30, and I was in my pajamas still. So I got dressed, threw on some makeup to potentially hide the fact that I was stressed to the max and exhausted, I grabbed a card, tissue paper, scotch tape, and we got in the car, and while my hubby drove I wrapped. Terrible wrapping job, but what matters is what's on the inside right? Then later, when friend Danielle opened the gift, she seemed really touched to get something handmade amongst a spread of BabiesRUs packages. And that made my weekend COMPLETELY worth it.
AND - THIS MORNING - after I slept through my alarm (grrrr...) and woke up at 7 (have to be out the door at 7:30), and after my speedy shower, I did something that was scheduled on my planner. Three weeks ago I started working out, and I wrote in my planner to try to pants that don't fit on Sunday, March 6. Yesterday I didn't do it. I had this serious trepidation about it. This morning, after my speedy shower, the options were a) iron some pants b) try on the pants that don't fit. I magically formulated some bravery & courage and TRIED ON THE PANTS AND THEY FIT ME!!! Three weeks ago I couldn't get them buttoned. NOW THEY FIT AND I CAN SIT AND STAND AND BEND OVER! This makes the three weeks of working-out-misery worth it. I don't feel like my body is different, but this is PROOF! I am HAPPY!
And that's the news from Lake Wobegon. :) Back to work.
